Autumn wedding at Károlyi Castle

Autumn wedding at Károlyi Castle

There’s always a kind of charm with castle weddings. It’s a little time travel among the old walls, ornaments, huge windows, chandeliers, curved stairs. For new perspectives and angles these type of locations are a paradise. They open up new opportunities and challenges for me. Károlyi Castle is remarkable place for getting married. It has everything inside and in its surroundings: church, event hall, accomodation, amazing places for couple photos.

Engagement session

Before the event we agreed to go for an usual pre-wedding photoshoot. They named the Fishermens’ Bastion as spot. However it was not the first time (or second) I had been there, I like going to the same location because it makes me think not to take the same pictures like me or anyone else done it before. It’s very challenging at a landmark space like that.

The wedding

The wedding took place in October which is one of my favourite months of the year. After the summer heat (September is the new summer) and just right before the cold and rainy November. The weather is definitely ever-changing but there is a beauty in this. We had a rainy morning so we picked the interior for portrait session. But after the rain there is always beautiful light. So however it was wet all day the mood of the pictures turned out splendid. First-look and public ceremony was held in the castle library, the liturgy in the church nearby, dinner and reception in the dining hall of the castle. It was a pleasure to take part in this special atmosphere with an awesome professional team which happened to be the David team.
